Russo's Wholesale Produce is a family owned and operated business. First opened in the late 1930's as a retail fish market, the owners would trade seafood to the local farmers for produce, which then would be sold to the locals of Monterey Peninsula and independent grocery stores. By 1950, the business had developed into a retail fish and produce market in Seaside , California ran by Horace and Carmen Russo and their three sons.

The business grew and we have been serving hotels, restaurants, schools, hospitals and government installations since 1950. Our warehouse, built in 1986, is located in Del Rey Oaks, California . The warehouse is 15,000 sq.ft. with loading docks, dry storage, refrigeration units and ripening rooms for the conditioning of avocados, bananas, tomatoes and various fruits that require ripening prior to delivery. Our produce distribution area is from Santa Cruz to San Ardo, Ca. Monday through Saturday. Our delivery schedule is at your convenience with 18 trucks and many employees at your service.

The sales staff buys only the best quality merchandise from local farmers and worldwide growers. We receive daily shipments to ensure that our customers get the freshest produce. Our employees are trained to hand pick your product and deliver your order in a timely fashion.

Jim Russo is now sole proprietor and runs the business with his son James as general manager. Jim's wife Angela and daughter Beth head the accounting and sales department.
